Missions - "The Great Commission"
Jesus said, "Go into all the world..."
While we all cannot go into the far corners of the world, we can partner with those who do. In its 115th Anniversary year, Westminster Presbyterian Church continues to be a mission-minded church, as it was when it was founded. From Everett to South America, Europe, the Ukraine, Japan and India, Westminster supports the spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ to a world in need of a Savior.
Our partners in Missions are:
Greater Everett: Child Evangelism Fellowship, Pregnancy Resource Center, Eastgate Jail Ministries
Foreign Shores: Alastair Macdonald on the Isle of Wight, Tim Bentson in Japan, Wilma Cross in Chile, the Waldeckers in South America, the Pikes in Ukraine, and the Clevengers on the Yakama Indian Reservation.
Short-Term Mission Trips: Mexico, Haiti, Honduras, Venezuela, Hungary, Lummi & Yakama Indian Reservations, Dominican Republic
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened." Matthew 7: 7-9

Music - Giving Glory to God in Song
“Sing for joy, O heavens, for the Lord has done this;shout aloud, O earth beneath.
Burst into song, you mountains, you forests and all your trees...” Isaiah 44:23
Burst into song, you mountains, you forests and all your trees...” Isaiah 44:23
The Chancel Choir
This traditional choir plays an integral part in the morning worship service. Wearing robes our choir members sit behind the pulpit. During the 11:00 a.m. Worship Service they present a call to worship, an anthem and a closing response. Rehearsals Come and join the choir at 7:00 p.m. every Wednesday evening in the sanctuary during September through June. For entrance, please ring the bell by the auxiliary front doors on Hoyt Ave. (Choir is temporarily not active during the Covid-19 Pandemic.) |
Director
Thomas Harper, a tenured voice instructor and Director of the Voice Division at University of Washington's School of Music, is our Choir Director. A veteran tenor, he has sung opera both locally and in Europe, with over 50 operatic roles to his credit. With a wealth of experience in choral music and voice instruction, Tom brings an irrepressible love of singing to our choir, and trains the members in their technique. |
Christian Education - Learning about our God and Eternity
Sunday School
At 9:45 a.m., Sunday morning, we begin with welcomes, songs, Happy Birthdays, and a SS offering. Then we break up into classes for all ages, from small children to adult. The adult content changes every quarter, to include Bible, Christian Living and Doctrine. Nursery During the Morning Worship Services we provide a nursery for infants and toddlers. Vacation Bible School For a whole week every summer, we sponsor a Christian activity center for children, in the format of Vacation Bible School. The exciting theme-approach varies every Summer, and includes decorations, Bible lessons, recreation, snacks, crafts, and songs. |
Family Camp
August 25‒28, 2022, we’ll sit back and enjoy the Great NW at Fort Ebey State Park on Whidbey Island, overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Admiralty Inlet. The camp fee is $25/family no matter how many nights or family members! Some get there Thursday and some on Friday. A picnic on Saturday at 5 pm appeals to all! Just bring your people and your food. Children's Church You may choose to keep your children with you during the Morning Worship Service, or allow them to attend Children's Church. From the Doxology to the end of the service, they hear a Bible Story, sing children's songs, and enjoy a snack. Library Our librarians maintain adult and children's libraries. Read and check out Christian magazines, DVDs, VCR tapes, and books ranging from theology to biographies and fiction novels. |
